Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. Vespra works without an account and without a server. Everything is processed and stored on your iPhone. Details in the privacy policy.
Does listening start on its own?
No. iOS doesn't let an app turn on the microphone without you. In the evening, open the Night tab, tap Arm tonight, then put your iPhone face down, plugged in if you can. In the morning, tap Stop listening.
What does Vespra record at night?
Two kinds of sounds: snoring (with its length) and the quiet stretches between two sounds, marked on a timeline. Vespra keeps 20-second clips so you can replay them; they delete themselves after 30 days. Vespra does not measure breathing or any body function, and does not interpret these sounds.
We sleep as a couple
Turn on There are two of us tonight before arming the night. Vespra doesn't know who the sounds come from and says so on the night's record. Night mode records everyone in the room: make sure anyone sleeping near you agrees.
A very short listen doesn't count
Listening for less than an hour counts as a try-out: it doesn't use one of your three free nights and doesn't appear in your history.
How do I move to a new iPhone?
Vespra's data doesn't go into your iCloud backup: that's a privacy choice. Before changing iPhone, export your nights from Me › Export my nights (PDF with your audio clips) or Export the log. Your purchase is restored on the new iPhone with Restore my purchase, using the same Apple Account.
How does the purchase work?
Three nights of listening are free. After that, a single purchase unlocks Vespra for good: no subscription, nothing renews. The purchase can be shared through Family Sharing. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I erase everything?
Me › Erase everything, then confirm. All of Vespra's data and audio clips on the iPhone are deleted. Deleting the app does the same. Files you exported or shared stay wherever you sent them.
Does Vespra replace medical advice?
No. Vespra is not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent anything. Worried about your sleep? Talk to a doctor.
What Vespra is
Vespra is an evening wellbeing app. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor or prevent any disease or condition. Night mode records sounds in your room using your iPhone's microphone and shows when snoring was heard and when the room went quiet. It does not measure breathing or any body function. It gives no score or threshold. Everything is processed and stored on your device. IE DIGITAL collects none of it. Exports are created and shared only by you. If you have any concern about your sleep or your health, see a doctor. Night mode records everyone in the room: make sure anyone sleeping near you agrees.
